Aurelia Dog Walker

I’ve mentioned before that to stay afloat between detective work that I’ve needed to take on some odd jobs. One of said jobs a year or so back sticks out in particular. In an especially dry spell for cases I found myself working, not as Aurelia Walker, but as Aurelia Dog-Walker. When you’re a dog walker you work mostly with wealthy clients who have 9-5 office jobs with pomeranians, great danes, and the like. The big dogs I never had trouble with, but the pomeranians, and chihuahuas; the little dogs always gave me a headache. They were always either too excitable or would make me clean up their vomit every half hour. One day however I got a request to walk for a new client I hadn’t worked with before at this point. Their job offer came in the mail and inside, beside the handwritten letter, was a silver threaded pendant with an amber stone. The letter explained that I was to place the necklace around the owner’s dog before taking it outside. After examining the pendant I determined it to be a sort of glamor charm, used to conceal the natural appearance of the person who wears it. Not many people have use for such an instrument of magic, let alone access to one, and most fae already possess the ability to disguise themselves among the human world, if not all. My better judgment told me to pass, but at this point it was too late, my curiosity had been awakened. When I arrived at the old house I saw it. What may be mistaken for a doberman, if not for the 3 distinct heads atop its shoulders. I had been hired to walk a cerberus. I say “a” cerberus, and I’ve not known there to be more than one cerberus, but as cool as some people might find it to be in the employ of the lords of the underworld I wasn’t excited about the prospect. That was my final gig as a dog walker. It’s a shame though since the cerberus was really nice actually.
