On Gloves

People always ask me: “Aurelia, why do you always wear gloves?” They act like it’s strange, but what they don’t understand is that, besides them being necessary for me, gloves are a year around accessory. Now I’m not one to accessorize, but I can at the very least acknowledge that gloves are not just for the cold. For example, leather gloves are perfect for any weather or season. They’re incredibly breathable so they don’t get uncomfortable or worn out from sweat, and while they can protect against the cold (as well as give you a little extra grip which the softer gloves don’t give you) they also come equipped for the summer weather. You can get plenty of leather gloves, as well as mesh, latex, or otherwise, designed for work out in the sun. While leather of course is preferred by bikers for its abrasion resistance, it is likewise my glove of choice for the aforementioned breathability, combined with the thicker material reducing any contact made with others. This all together makes leather gloves the most compatible for my needs. This of course doesn’t even begin to cover wool, cotton, fleece, or any other of those materials, not to mention fingerless gloves, or the sickening lace gloves I sometimes see online, but regardless if people could take anything away from this its that you shouldn’t comment on other people’s choices you clearly don’t understand.
